Winter Rules
From our Rules Chairman, Janice:
Winter Rules apply at our course, until the course pro changes the status to summer rules.
At this time, there is silt on holes 2, 4, 5, and 8. You can lift, clean & either: tee up your ball in the silt, (you cannot tee up on any other holes) or: you can move it, no closer to the hole, but on grass, within a club length.
On the rest of the course, you can lift, clean, and place your ball, up to 6 inches, no nearer the hole. This includes by any tree or out of bounds (naturally, winter rules only).
If your ball lands in standing water, or you have to stand in standing water, (or mud) to hit the ball, you can move your ball, back or sideways to the nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole.
If there is standing water on the green, but your ball is OFF the green, you can only improve your ball the six inches. If your ball is ON the green, then you can move your ball to nearest point of relief, so you do not have to putt through the water. In all scenarios, you can never move your ball closer to the holes.
Ladies……Just a reminder that you cannot give yourself a gimme in any circumstance, even if it is on the lip of the hole. There will be a penalty whether it is day’s play or in a tournament.
Another reminder, if you find yourself by the 150 bush, and will hit the bush with your swing, you can go to the closest point of relief, plus one club length.
Thank you….Rules Chair, Janice….Most of all, have fun!!!
