May Rule of the Month, Knee Drop
From our Rules chairman, Michelle:
You’re playing in a competition and what would be your first chance of having to do the new “knee drop” rule you absentmindedly drop from shoulder height. Your fellow competitors do not bother to correct you before you hit the ball and quickly assess you a penalty. What is the penalty? According to Rule 14.3b(3) it is one penalty stroke. But if you dropped incorrectly and also played it from outside the relief area then you would get the two-stroke general penalty. Let’s hope the poor sportsmanship of your competitors spurred you on to play tougher and defeat them!
